The ending of Stamped

So, let's get this book over with!

Chapter 25.

It's the Hip Hop era, 1988. This was a great way for many artists to express their feelings on racism by songs, for the new generation and future people to know that many were black and proud.

By this time, black men produced movies like no where else, but a white man would create the biggest impact of this time. George Holiday recorded Rodney King being brutality beaten by the police of Los Angeles. When the public saw this recording, they went crazy (in a good way.)

The officers got in trial, but they were found not guilty , but people knew that the police did something wrong, and they had to pay the consequences, so the black people hit the L.A streets for rebellion.

President Clinton was already exhausted with all of this, and decided to criticize rappers, and well, many people joined him too. They debated to ban this "Gangtsa rap", they felt like rap was making black people more violent, more materialistic, and more sexual, and even though white people also listened to the music too, they were never told anything.

Angela Davis was recognized as American's most antiracist voice, and would speak for the "Black Women in the Academy" of MIT.

She proposed a "New Abolition" where the prison where able to be thought about more and change the way they function. And while that was going on, President Clinton made slavery! Yaya!

No seriously, he created the violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement, this increased the population in jail, and surprise surprise, many of these people were black. This fueled people to think Black people were more criminals than whites, that black people were a natural criminal, and a natural savage.

The rest of the chapters are really repetitive, but it's not the authors fault, it's just history repeating over and over, some people write how blacks are not intelligent enough and backs it by "science", people get angry and fight, the president says "Yeah don't worry guys" a law gets made, and does nothing except harm more Blacks, feel really bad for the author when writing all of this, it probably was so boring and painful.

On the 2000's people were given prove that intelligence didn't matter between races, wow! Crazy, I know. but it did change many people's perspective, not all of them thought leading to a bigger fight between white and Black people.

Yet, finally the new president came, the first Black president that proved the white racists wrong, Barack Obama.

He was the change of the century, the man black people were waiting for. He wrote his own thoughts and feelings in his speeches, how he hated the discrimination people like him get. His wife also was there with him, trying to help the community and say how she is proud to see America move into a less racist country.

Now we get to more new topics, The Black Lives Matter Movement. By seeing the killings of children who were unarmed, people who were unarmed, people who were killed by police because of their race. It is still a problem we have today, and with the virus, everything has been worse, as well as with the new politician we are getting.

So, finally, the afterward, man this book was so interesting!

What did we learn kids? We learned that America isn't the best country in the world, instead a place full of different colors. A place where people were and are mistreated, and a place with dreamers.

we learned about the influence people who had some of the best and worst ideas, people who cared about money than morals and those who were confused about their own feelings on race.

As I say every time, there was a lot I skipped, so if you ever want to read this book, I didn't spoil that much, and either way we live in the time this book ends.....Woah, I felt weird writting that.

But now that you have a new knowledge about slavery and racism in America, don't forget about it, and instead keep the legacy of those before us who fought for the freedom and equality we have today. And remember,

it all started because of the dumb ZURARA!!
